Review: On The Edge of Gone by Corinne Duyvis

I’ve been sitting on writing this review for a couple of weeks, though I’m not quite sure why. It’s been a busy two weeks, but writing a review doesn’t usually take so long that I couldn’t fit it in somewhere quite easily. I suppose the truth is that I both loved On The Edge of Gone, and found myself wishing it would hurry up a little–mostly because it wasn’t the story I was expecting. That said, some of those surprises were truly awesome, and I still highly recommend this read.

How Things Went: The #MakeMeRead Challenge

On¬†July 9th, excited to start the #MakeMeRead Readathon, I reached for my Kindle and did not find it. Just take a moment to let the horror sink in. Okay, I admit it’s not at all that horrific given what’s happening in the world today, but I did have a nasty feeling in the pit of my stomach as I pawed through my laptop case and found bookmarks and wires and a random ziploc bag, but No Kindle. Despite the immediate realization that I had planned very badly for this Readathon, I still¬†managed to read the top-voted novel of the #MakeMeRead challenge. The Kindle has yet to be found...

Happy Book Birthday & Mini Review: The First Chill of Autumn by W. R. Gingell

You’ve probably heard me rave about a couple of W.R. Gingell’s books that I’ve had the opportunity to read, so I’m really excited to help celebrate Gingell’s newest release,¬†The First Chill of Autumn.¬†I reviewed the first in this series,¬†Twelve Days of Faerie,¬†here and pretty much recommend it to everyone and their cat / dog / favorite stuffy. I enjoyed¬†the rest of the series as well (review of this book below!) but that first book is an utter gem. And now I’m going to let Gingell tell you a little more about this lovely new novella…. The First Chill...

Review: Twelve Days of Faery by W.R. Gingell

I recently read¬†Twelve Days of Faery by W. R. Gingell and loved it. When I went to mark it as read on GoodReads, I was shocked to find it didn’t have any reviews up yet. This was a total “What in the Sam Heck?” indie author moment for me. Good book, no reviews?¬†So of course I wrote a review. And I’m sharing it everywhere. And while this novella¬†is not trying to be deep and complex, it is fun and light and intelligently written and I had a ball reading it. So, without further ado, here is¬†Twelve Days of Faery. Synopsis: King Markon of Montalier is at the end of his...

Review: Mourning Cloak by Rabia Gale

This has to be my favorite read from the last couple of months. It’s ultra short folks–not even 25k words, which kind of straddles the line between novelette and novella. But it is well worth the read–it packs action, character development, and a fantastic world into one tight little package. And, to top it all off,¬†Mourning Cloak is FREE on Smashwords for this month only (July 2015)–use code SSW50 at checkout! And if you miss that, it’s still only 99 cents. Ha! That’s not even my review…   GoodReads ¬† | ¬† Amazon ¬† | ¬† Smashwords The Blurb Kato...
